well im pretty sure this has been discussed before but i was thinking about it today in my "business accounting 2" class.

think about how big the maps are gonna be in warcraft 3. in multiplayer your gonna have to have start positions for(expamle only, not based on facts)12 camps. then you will have to have countless NPC bases and goblin trading posts. it will probably take quite a while for you to walk all the way to the enemy base to attack. this would make it very hard for the attacker because of the time it will take to reinforce thier forces at the main attack point. i think this will make people totally change there traditional RTS stratgies.

but from the screen shots we have seen the maps do not look all that much bigger than a starcraft map. i know these SS's are subject to change and blizzard knows what they are doing...maybe the maps we have seen are not from multiplayer but from single player.

I don't think moving an army of units to attack a distant base will be a problem because there are alot less units to move around. The unit cap in WC3 will be about 1/3 that of SC from what I understand.

I remember reading that the maps will the same size as SC maps. But I'm sure that WC3 12 player maps will be bigger than SC 8 player maps. I think what they mean is that maps from both games will be about the same size for maps that have the same number of players. Confusing eh?

thats true... the less unit thing will make it better.

i hope the maps in multiplayer are not as small as the SC ones that would suck with 8-16 ppl and npcs...

Im looking more around how Tribes was, rolling hills, very big for one person, you will have to stay focused, but i guess no one really knows.

I want some bigger maps... that way it give me a better chance as I'm running away. Seriously though, if you can survive and build another base after being destroyed, that would be great... but get too big and you'll end up having problems finding and killing the enemies. The big Starcraft maps were of a decent size, but I'd like more choices, and bigger maps to choose from.

im to lazy to look this up, but is tehre a multi-cooperative campaign mode. Say like each person can control a hero adn go through the game on different story lines. maybe even fan created ones. That would almsot be like a WarCraft RPG!

I like co-op story line games, even like in Perfect Dark, when a buddy helps you beat a level. (Too bad you have to do it on one-player, first)

Co-op games (or coop as I like to call them) are fun as hell... expecially if they follow a story. I was just playing some Serious Sam co-op the other day with my roommate. It's a fun game, though much more fun with two of us in there.

Uraduir, the armies will be smaller.

i hope maps are huge. just big enough to make attacking enemy bases 'crusades' but short enough not to make you wait half the game just walking
