I am jov.

Salutations.

Sorry, Hori-hori is the default Keeper option. I figured it was acceptable as it's a garden knife.

Hey Urin,

My goodness do I love TED. Been watching their videos for a few years now. They got huge since they let everyone know they existed.

According to my detective skills, it's been nearly six years since you last posted. Can that be right? If it is then I think you've just set a record for the most surprising return to ForumsX. What have you been up to? Hell how'd you find us?

Hello so and so! How's the fam?
Let's see... it's been a while. I think when I last was on here I was playing SW:G, then FFXI, and then WoW. Looking back at it, WoW was def. my last game I was playing while here. So... that means I was working a crap job after undergrad school as a deli worker. Whooo! This is totally what a BFA earns one; deli working job. Bleh. FYI, the BFA is in Film Production.

I got tired of that job, like real tired and moved from Littleton to Denver (proper like). Quit the job as a deli worker and... um... yeah. was jobless for a few months.
This was around when I officially quit WoW, even going so far as to install Ubuntu on my machine to temper game play.
This is also around the time I started getting pretty heavy into weed. Learned a terrifying life lesson. And had one of the best roommates ever, and one of the worst roommates ever (same house, tore it apart even).

Got work as a temp! This, my friends, is possibly even WORSE than deli work. I filled in the blanks for companies that got behind on their work (basically). I did this for a year and worked at construction offices, cytology labs, and call centers. Left and never looked back when I filled in for a small family print shop.

I got hired to work the desk at a massage school's graduate clinic. Managed that for a year or so and got bumped up to the school's admin office. Ended up hiring someone to fill my shoes, and worked for the school full time. Been working there since.

Full time work is not my cup of tea, I'll be honest. I get around town on bike (which stinks 'cause lately I've had a endless string of flats... ick) which is nice enough. But too much of my week is gobbled by work, and the weekends I'm catching up on chores. I do get some game time in, but I need more art time in. A delicate balance!

I had a few on and off relationships in this time, the most definitive was when I was working the desk at the clinic (about two years ago now...) She was awesome, but then moved away to her home state of misery... I mean, Missouri. Why follow her? I haven't cared to start up one since. Not sure why, I guess I have some living to do still.

I tried, and failed, last year to buy a house. That's a part time job of it's own. I should be doing that again this year, but my heart's not in it yet. Maybe soon...

I now am using Win7 again... holy shit I love Steam!

I've been in good health. Though I notice I'm getting grumpier or angrier often. I don't know why that is, probably not enough exercise.

I still grow plants. Went from two, to too many. I know I've lost some on the way, gained others, they are easy to care for and should be in everyone's home. I want to start gardening, but we (and it seems everyone else) have been having the worst weather here.

Hello MadMac. Sounds about right, see the above for a recap on what I've been up to. I came back here because... oddly, it came to mind while working the other day.
Found it easy enough, it was remembering my password that proved the challenge. Luckily, my memory seems eidetic enough still.

What's weird is last Sunday I went to a friend's birthday. Made a pinata and donned my green panda t-shirt. Part way through I was like; why the fuck am I wearing my panda shirt? I knew there was a reason for it. I wore it to the last b-day event I went to as well.
Now I recall GRUNT's panda gifting. Hah! How memories catch up to you.

Do you get massages whenever you want? :-D?

Great post. And since I have no clue how to respond, I'll catch you up on what I've been up to, even though you didn't ask for it. HAH. Love the internet. I figure you deserve some stories in return for yours.

Lets see, In the last six years I've graduated college and begun the search for full time work. In college I wrote and performed live music for a lot of dancers and a bunch of plays. Example: http://home.bates.edu/views/2011/05...formance-santo/ Since I've worked at three restaurants, created a nice set of guitar students for myself, and found some film production assistant work. Really bogus work, but hey, they pay so whatev. Beats working as a temp.

My buddy from home finds that he will NOT be attending college next year and needs to re-evaluate some stuff. Looks like we'll be moving to Brooklyn soon, which I can only pray for after living with the parents for almost a year now.

My car is breaking down swiftly. The muffler has fallen off and I figure I'm one moving violation away from taking it off the road. Bike's the way to go.

One of my relationships had a curious twist when an ex-girlfriend found that I wrote about her on this forum. She got all pissed and started telling her friends, my friends, anyone really, that I had written about her on the Internet and was violating her rights. However, what I had written was "Bitch showed up at my door and threw a bottle of vodka at me, then started picking up shit around my room and throwing it at me". Since that was all true, I don't think she shared the hyperlink with anyone.

I too love Steam, and bought the Orange Box this week for $20. Flew through Portal and Half-Life 2 in a few quick days. But the amount of time I've sunk into Starcraft II is... not good. Masters league! But as South Park would say, "You broke 1,000,000 points! YOU, ARE, FAGS"

ForumsX has changed. We probably post a hell of a lot less than we used to, but generally everyone's thoughts are well thunk. We're basically a forum of nostalgic people, and occasionally there are some very exciting or well written posts. However, most of the time we just can't be bothered.

MadMac, Yes indeed. I get massages whenever I want. But I'm typically too busy to schedule them. It's really quite nice!

Also, thanks for the life update of your own. I recommend the bike, personally. Spend some time getting one that fits you, it makes all the difference. It's my favorite speed to move around town too.

Sucks about the girl, you should have sent the post to friends. Would have quelled that right away... or... maybe not. Who knows! But sounds like she wasn't worth it anyways.

Good luck on the move from the parents. I had a moment when I was house hunting where I stayed with them. I then remembered not to do that. Got up to Denver as soon as I could. They are nice people, good for a visit. Not for a long stay.

I love SC2, it's clean and efficient. I just don't have the skill set, nor time to devote to the skill, to really play it well. But Day[J] is fun to watch. I've learned a lot about the high levels of game play, and realize my brain probably can't keep up all of that... I distract too easily.

food i do believe that if I am to bother wearing socks, they might as well be nice socks. That, and I like how that sounds.
I am not, however, Keeper. My grandpa always told me you can fill one hand with wishes and the other with shit, and see which fills up first.

He also told me that if you can salt a pigeon's tail, you can catch it. Took my a minute to figure that one out, it does make sense.

Hey jov! Long time no see!

Now if we can just get a bunch of other vets to come back, we might actually pull this place out of its current zombie state and back into real LIFE!

jov, how is cycling working out as a mode of transportation in Denver? When i was in Denver almost a decade ago, i noticed that it was a little too automobile-oriented for my tastes. Do they have dedicated bike lanes there? Chicago is pretty good with that shit... and pretty flat... which works excellently for my fixed gear
