I don't think I can justify spending $50 on a game that will end in under 10 hours.

I wager $10 that themadmac will beat himself in the race

I bought the mac version for $35 from amazon, and I had a mystery gift balance on there so it totaled less than $12 dollars. I'm happy with that.

this game is like...

really easy...

almost done... just saying...

the voice acting is really good, the atmospheres are beautiful. i'm treating this more like a movie than a video game though.

MARK.

I got the game on Thursday night, thought I would play but was too exhausted. Woke up that next afternoon and played A LITTLE. Went to work 4pm-12am, played a bit afterwards. Same deal Saturday. I beat the game by 1pm today.

Granted, I think this game is BASED on the co-op campaign. They refer to it in detail in the single player, every review talks about the co-op, the ads are about the co-op characters... okay, I haven't gotten to play that yet. I bet a lot of that fun comes from the interaction with your friend. That being said since I bought a MAC/PC version, I don't exactly have another console controller to split screen this thing. Steam lets you play online with your Steam friends. of which I have none.

So now I gotta go get a friend to buy Portal 2 so I can play through the co-op campaign with them. And then hope they can handle themselves well enough to play advanced portal stuff.

Still, the game was fun. They introduced lots of new mechanics... they just didn't use them a hell of a lot in the single player. You can warp "hard light walls", there are two directional portal paths which make you sort of hover around a puzzle, and then there are the three different types of goo. Speedy goo, bouncy goo, and portal conductive goo. It's colorful and fun.

STILL SURPRISINGLY EASY TO FIGURE OUT THOUGH. Is there a hard mode around here somewhere or something? At least portal 1 had the "challenge" section. Those levels were tough, and I stood around puzzled as hell trying to figure those out.

I feel like they focused more on making them BIG puzzles, so they FELT satisfying completing them. Like, "Look how much physical terrain I'm covering. This was a big puzzle I just finished!" when in fact it was a very easy small puzzle in a very big room.

Well I got the first one free and as much as I enjoyed it, I can't justify 50 bucks on a game like that one.
