So, who's voting for Trump? Let the bloodbath commence!

I would vote for him in the primaries just to keep the republicans out of the white house and watch the party implode.

As an independent in a state that I could of course.

touche. On one hand, I think it's good because it takes a douche like Trump to get Hillary into the White House. But, at the same time, even as a candidate, it's really embarrassing that he's gotten this far.

The USA voted in Bush twice. (Once in a stolen election which no one did anything about.)
Fear and hatred have always been big in the USA. (Us and Them mentality)
Trump isn't the real problem the political system and how it is perceived is. All the Trump supporters cite the same problems the Sanders supporters cite about the system, I don't know why we are amazed about any of this. Meh...

I think Sanders would be the best option for the USA.

I'd be happy with either Sanders or Hillary. Look, I hate Bush, and I think he and his team should be put on trial for war crimes. But, having said that, Bush was never Trump. Bush was just some gullible simp, coached by his father and friends. Trump is a megalomaniac, creating a cult of personality around himself. I can see how voters simple-mindedly "trusted" Bush. But, who could ever feel that way about Trump?

I think the answer is partly senility (both Trump and a large number of his supporters), and then a big part is simple hatred.

It doesn't pay to trust the echo chamber. During the last federal election in Aus, I would have put money on ALP maintaining power because everyone I knew on Facebook could see that Tony Abbott would make an awful prime minister so who on earth was going to actually vote for him? Then, he won with a crushing landslide.

In the same light, I think its entirely plausible that Trump takes the whole thing.

I use to think that about Bush too, that he was a simpleton who was coached and controlled by others. But I started to listen to what Hitchens had to say about Bush. While I disagree with Hitchens about Bush I do think that he does have a point that Bush was a hell of a lot smarter and much more able then he was painted by the media. (And continues to be sledged by the media.)

Bush loved the Us and Them.
"If you are not with us, your against us.' - Bush on war and terror(ism).

I agree that there was never a cult of personality with Bush, and Trump is certainly much more of a megalomaniac but I do put them both in the same frame.

-----------------------

Bryndon I have to ask what rock where you living under or on what planet? Every single indicator during the Rudd - Abbott election had the (so called) liberals wining, given not by the amount they won but not so far off that it would come as a surprise. Just as every single indicator has Turnbull taking the next election; which is way to far out to call but still... Abbott on the other hand would have been smashed by a longer margin then he had won.

Trump is as unelectable as Abbott would be in Aussie, Trump would need something along the lines of 76% of the white male vote in the whole of the US of A to win. And not even I think Americans are that gullible. Though I am open to admitting I could be wrong. I do not think it is plausible that Trump could or would win, nor does the Republican party (the ones that spend their lives trying to get a Republican in the white house, does not matter what kind or which Republican all that matters is they are a Republican. The United States is fuck up man)

That is why they are in the process of imploding and why I would want to help them along. If anyone else feels that way VOTE TRUMP!

By the way Gillard would have given Abbott a better run with the possibility of another hung parliament, but the ALP threw it all in for an all or nothing bet and came up nothing. Sort of like Abbott and his first budget.

Even a vote 'against someone' is still a vote for someone, unless you deliberately deface your ballot paper in protest ('informal vote' that is what they call them here).

While have little feeling toward Hillary I can not understand any sentiment or hate for her that would lead any one to vote for Trump or Cruz; in my personal opinion those to are fucking nut jobs. If you are going to vote you shouldn't do so out of hate or love, but simply who is offering they closest ideal to your own. If none are, get involved! Even if that means starting your own political party.

That is the problem with democracy in the USA, everyone is of the view that there are only two valid ways of looking at any issue, that there are only two valid parties. You all need to wake the fuck up and get involved, turn your back on any system that stifles debate. Or you will end up just like all Russia or any one the other democratic counties out there where only one voice is heard with a pro functionary opposition.

Bring on the Revolution, Bring on the Bern.

Trump does know how to make money... And we are lacking in that department.

Edit: I do like Bernie, ID vote for him.

Does he?

I know he is a very risky investment, and if it was my money I would not put it on him.

Also do you have a problem with money?

The USA is still the richest county in the world and still making the most money. It is just that the recovery is going to the top 1 to 10% as it is in all western nations I have read about I'd be happy to see or read about a recovery that was more equitable.

I would argue that you have a problem not with money its self but with the distribution of money and that distribution being very inequitable. That is why I say "Bring on the Revolution, Bring on the Bern."

I said I would vote for Bernie, but not sure he will make it.

An if Trump didn't make money would he still be rich?

As for money I lost my job in construction back in lik 08 because they stopped building. So I had to work for Walmart until I quit to help take care of my mom, an go to college.

Actually no, I wouldn't vote Bernie. We are a republic. An he is an extreme socialist/Communist.

We do need a fix but one extreme or the other is not it.

EDIT: I do like Bernie as a person, but he does not stand for America. I would love to have more money, but I should make it myself. The top 1% sucks but forcing it is bad.

Trump is wealthy always has been, inherited I believe. Wealth accrues wealth. Trump has lost a hell of a lot of money, has made many very bad deals. That is not to say he lost all his wealth, even when he was bankrupt he was still have very wealthy man. I think most if not all his wealth is not technically his but rather a trusts... I can't remember all of it, I did some research way back on Trump and he is not a very good business man nor any where near a sound investment. Can't see anything having changed in the last few years or so...

Also because you seem to be confused

republic |rəˈpəblik|
noun
a state in which supreme power is held by the people and their elected representatives, and which has an elected or nominated president rather than a monarch.
• archaic a group with a certain equality between its members.
ORIGIN
late 16th cent.: from French république, from Latin respublica, from res ‘entity, concern’ + publicus ‘of the people, public.’

socialist |ˈsōSHələst|
noun
a person who advocates or practices socialism.

communist |ˈkämyənəst|
noun
a person who supports or believes in the principles of communism

socialism |ˈsōSHəˌlizəm|
noun
a political and economic theory of social organization that advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.

communism |ˈkämyəˌnizəm| (often Communism)
noun
a political theory derived from Karl Marx, advocating class war and leading to a society in which all property is publicly owned and each person works and is paid according to their abilities and needs. See also Marxism.

(Yes that was a cut and paste from a dictionary)

And for good measure

capitalism |ˈkapədlˌizəm|
noun
an economic and political system in which a country's trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit, rather than by the state.

So you live in a Capitalist country.
Bernie is not a Communist or a Marxist, he is a Democratic (That is to say a Republican) Socialist (by his own admission) but that has nothing to do with Communism. All that it means is that he believes that there are things we need, like firefighters, or policemen, or a military, or schools, or roads, or swear systems. All of which he believes should be owned by the people and used solely for the benefit for the people as a whole not for the profit of private owners. Also he believes that a completely unregulated market is a bad idea, for example; in a completely unregulated market there is nothing to stop anyone from marketing and selling heroin to children.

There it some degree of Socialism in all civilised society, and it is largely what our liberal Democracies (Republics) are built upon.

But seriously Bernie is not extreme in anyway, he simply is asking people to pay their taxes and the government to close all the loopholes that allow them to pay next to nothing when they are earning most of that money through means other then wages. Not really a bad thing to ask. Bernie is asking for a small tax increase that would be more then offset by what you would save in insurance premiums. But lets face it that is not going to happen for sometime...

Really I don't understand some Americans, the vast majority of Americans do want all most all of what Bernie is suggesting. Look up the fucking polices and polls there is a wealth of information out there and yet all those claiming to know what America 'stands for' have little to no fucking idea.

Neither of them are honest about the threat of islam. Instead catering to their worst constituents and crying racism and sexism and islamofauxbia and homofauxbia and transfauxbia and bigots and xenofauxbia and it's like none of these cradled crybabies can form anything resembling a factual argument that doesn't revolve around their feels.

That's why Trump won.

Why Trump won...

Trump won because only 54% of the voting population turned up. Had more turned up Trump would not have won.

Trump won because about 9% of democrats voted for Trump, that is registered democrats. Madness.

Trump won because Hillary was his opposition, Bernie would have beaten Trump by around 10 points.

Trump won because Hillary spent the whole fucking primary saying 'no we can't', or 'we can't do that'.

Trump won because Hillary had no message, no cut through.

Trump won because even if you lose the popular vote by 3 million you can still win the election.

I do agree that there was blow back from the stupidity of 'safe spaces' and the rest of that bullshit but that is not the only reason. There is a multitude of reasons and to ignore all and focus on only one would be as bad as the people you are decrying.

Yeah that nonsense about trolls and safe spaces and SJWs and 4chan racists isn't even a thing, not either side. The internet just thinks it is. Lot of hot air over absolutely nothing. "Oh but feminists said..." so what? Nobody listens to them. "Oh but alt-right trolls did..." so what? Nobody cares about them. Twitter's a megaphone for idiots who don't matter. Whether somebody tells you to check your privelege or that you're a beta cuck what they're actually saying is "I'm tiny and nobody cares about me in real life". Horseshoe theory in action.

We memed a man into office. The internet can do anything. It has a cryptocurrency that is worth 5 times more than gold.

Yeah, because of criminal money laundering. You didn't meme a man into office, most of the people who voted for him wouldn't know how to use a comment section let alone what a meme is because it doesn't help in opening a bud light. And the internet couldn't even get Snakes on a Plane to be a hit.
