Bah I need some help for a map I'm making. I'm trying to make it so that when I cast a spell on an allied Footman he turns into a Knight but it isn't working. Does anyone know why? The current trigger looks like this.....

Action:
Hero begins casting ability
Condition:
Ability being cast equal to Knight and Targeted Unit equal to Footman
Action:
Replace Targeted Unit with Knight



What's going wrong? If I can't fix it should I just have him summon a knight instead?

This isn't obvious, but if you look in the blizzard.j you see that warcraft 3 doesn't return which unit the spell is being cast at. You have to have another trigger which stores the last unit targeted by the order to cast the spell. Then you have to use that variable in this trigger instead of "targeted unit".

I wonder if Blizzard will add "Target of ability" in the next patch. Then it would reduce the amount of code for each spell.

Thanks I'll try and remember that later when I get home. And that Target of ability would make some peoples jobs so much easier.

You can forget my previous post. Just download 1.13. blizzard has implemented what I hoped that they would do. Blizzard rocks. They ahve added lots of cool new stuff to the world editor.

- Event Response - Target Point Of Ability Being Cast (point call)
- Event Response - Target Unit Of Ability Being Cast (unit call)
- Event Response - Target Destructible Of Ability Being Cast (destructible
call)
- Event Response - Target Item Of Ability Being Cast (item call)

They fixed the tiny bug I found too. Among with many others.
AUnit-Targeted Order for Drunken Haze uses invalid order string "st.rongdrink"
(should be "drunkenhaze").

I would but the computer I use to make my maps has no Internet connection. So I just decided to have him summon the Knight instead since it was easier and faster.

You can still use two triggers.

I have a little problem with my spells! They never work after level 4?? I youst take a normal spell and write some more to have more upgrades on the spells. But they never work?? Why not??
